Smith Mesa

Smith Mesa is one of my favorite places in the entire world! The views on Smith Mesa blew me away the first time I saw them and they continue to blow me away every time I visit. Smith Mesa towers over the little town of Virgin, UT, just 20 minutes away from Zion National Park. You can see Zion National Park and the adjacent land of Kolob from the East side of Mesa. On the south side of the Mesa you can see Gooseberry Mesa and into Apple Valley. The best thing about the mesa though, is that you can ride along the top of the mesa into these rolling green fields with lots of cattle, ponds, and cabins. It’s honestly not what you’d expect which is what makes this mesa so special.
